Biographies
Veli Kalle Tavakka
CEO Tofuture Oy
Veli Kalle is responsible for Tofuture’s operations as the CEO, with 20 years of experience in Senior Management positions in Insurance and Risk Management organizations. Veli Kalle’s areas of expertise are strategic planning and business development. In addition, Veli Kalle has broad specialist knowledge in Governance, Risk Management and Compliance issues. Veli Kalle holds a Master’s Degree from Helsinki University of Technology and Bachelor’s Degree from Helsinki School of Economics.
Mikael Niskala
Senior Vice President Sustainability Business Excellence
Head of Tofuture Sustainability Academy
Mikael is responsible for developing Tofuture Sustainability Business Excellence approach and heading Tofuture Sustainability Academy. Mikael has over 15 years of experience in leading sustainability consulting projects and senior executive advisory. He is an internationally noted expert in corporate responsibility and sustainability reporting. Mikael’s areas of expertise include non-financial performance measurement and reporting, GRI-based reporting and corporate responsibility governance. He is also specialized to providing independent external assurance for corporate sustainability reports. Mikael is a Licentiate of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) and a nominated trainer for the GRI certified training courses.
Mikael has participated as an advisory member to the development of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) sustainability reporting guidelines and development of Finnish Accounting Board’s General Guidance on disclosure of environmental and social responsibility issues in the financial statements. In addition, Mikael has also made his mark in academic arena by publishing several academic research articles on corporate sustainability. He is an author of five business books and several professional publications.
Tomi Pajunen
Vice President Sustainable Business Development
Tomi is responsible for Tofuture’s sales and internationalization. Tomi has broad experience in creating and delivering services and solutions for corporate sustainability management. Before joining Tofuture, Tomi has worked for KPMG Sustainability Services and Nokia. Tomi has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering and Industrial Economics.
Jani Alenius
Vice President Sustainability Advisory and Assurance
Jani is responsible for Tofuture’s sustainability advisory and assurance services and manages Tofuture’s team of sustainability consultants. Jani works as lead consultant in sustainability advisory projects for major multinational companies.
Jani specializes in combining financial and non-financial metrics to improve customers’ understanding of strategic sustainability development issues and realizing the business case for corporate responsibility management and reporting. Before Tofuture, Jani has worked for instance as a business controller at Elisa and as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young. Jani is a GRI certified trainer, AA 1000 licensed assurance practitioner as well as an experienced financial accountant and auditor. Jani holds a Master’s degree from Helsinki School of Economics in Management Accounting.
Kaisa Kurittu
Senior Consultant
Kaisa works as a Project Manager in projects focusing on sustainability strategies and management. She is also responsible for Sustainability Academy’s GRI-trainings in the Nordic countries. Before joining Tofuture, Kaisa worked as a Design Engineer in infrastructure and environmental consulting. Kaisa holds a double Master’s degree, one in Civil and Municipality engineering and the other in Corporate Environmental Management.
Henrik Weinestedt
Managing Director, Tofuture Sweden
Henrik manages Tofuture’s Operations in Sweden. In addition, Henrik works as a consultant in Tofuture CSM system implementation projects and conducts Sustainability Academy’s GRI-training in Sweden. Henrik has international experience in sustainability reporting at the NGO and renewable energy sectors. Henrik specializes in GRI reporting, stakeholder relations and integration of sustainability reporting and ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility) Standard. Henrik has a Master’s degree in Sustainable Enterprising from Stockholm University.
Joona Lattunen
Consultant, Customer Care
Joona is mainly responsible of Customer Care. He is the key support person in CSM- related issues and he also does CSM- trainings. In addition Joona is taking part in various other CSM- projects. Joona has studied in the University of Helsinki and he has a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics. Previously he has worked in IT software sales and as an Environmental Specialist at Nokia Sustainability Team.
Satu Hovisalmi
Senior Consultant
Satu Hovisalmi is working as Project Manager in Tofuture Sustainability Services. She is specializing in corporate responsibility strategies and environmental management. Her work involves consulting in corporate responsibility projects as well as training in GRI reporting. In addition, Satu is also consulting and managing product responsibility projects in the electric and electronic industry.
Riikka Pello
Consultant
Riikka works as a Sustainability Consultant in Sustainability advisory projects and CSM system implementations and specializes in stakeholder dialogue and non-financial performance measurement. Riikka has prior work experience from business analyst tasks involving market surveys and due diligence. Riikka has Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Aalto School of Economics and she is finishing a double Master’s Degree in Management Accounting and CEMS Master of International Management.
Janne Huhtanen
Vice President Software Services
Janne works as Technical Lead in Tofuture Software Development team. His is responsible for technical development of the CSM product. Janne’s main duties include version planning and scheduling, technical and functional improvements, architecturing and implementation.
Janne has over ten years of experience in both developing complex IT systems and consultancy. He has experience in working with both large companies and smaller start ups in different business verticals. He holds degree in Business Information Technology.
Juha Palomäki
Senior Software Architect
Juha works as Senior Architect in Tofuture Software Development Team with hosting architecture as his main responsibility. In addition, Juha works as IT Consultant in CSM system implementation projects. Juha has diverse experience on IT systems in general as well as on different programming languages and tools. Prior to Tofuture, Juha has held various consulting and software development related positions. Juha has a Master’s Degree from Helsinki University of Technology.
Tomas Kåll
Senior Software Architect
Tomas works as a Senior Software Architect at Tofuture. Tomas has vast experience in system development and software consulting for various types of solutions including banking and compliance. Prior to joining Tofuture in 2006 Tomas was developing agent based software solutions for information retrieval and management. Tomas has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Åbo Akademi University.

Our profile makes us small enough to be flexible yet large enough to be capable of delivering results regardless of the client’s size and industry.
